One a piece of writing that has greatly affected me is the book The Blind Side, by Michael Lewis. The reason why I felt so impacted by this book was because of the story behind it. The story of a young unprivileged boy becoming extremely successful. The book told the story of football player Michael Oher, and included important stylistic writing that kept the audience engaged to the story. One particular example of this is how the author would occasionally veer off from the main story of Oher’s life. He would include facts and information in order to help the audience get a better understanding of the books setting. The author also included small side stories with shock value, which greatly improved their work. Overall, the book was more than just a story about a person's life, due to the added style and unique content, within the book.
